OFFICIAL STATEMENT & ANNOUNCEMENT
RE: LAUNCH PARTY EVENT AND A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISH...
Dear MJ fans,
I want to first of all use this message to wish the 'King of Pop' - Michael Jackson a very happy 49th birthday.
As you know we held our launch party this past Sunday at the London Hippodrome. We want to thank all those that performed and attended to make this such an occasion. It was a great success and the response we have had back in letters and e-mails has been extremely encouraging.
The performers were, as always, extremely talented. Our event was even more spectacular by an opening medley put together by the renowned 'Briggsy'. He has been a huge part of this team and worked day and night for several weeks on not just the opening, but also videos for the event throughout, as well as a video intro for 'Navi' . He also put his magic to several artists on the day, as their music was remixed by the maestro Briggsy.
The opening set of performers set the standard that would carry on throughout. Danny Oliver, Jayesh and Philly T. These guys are well known in the MJ fan community and they brought the same magic that we all know them for.
Our host(s) were Robin Parsons and Shakeena Douglas. Robin has been a performer for several years, and is multi talented in performing both on stage and behind the decks. Many of you danced the evening away with Robin spinning the discs for hours after. Shakeena was at hand to support Robin, and did a fabulous job. Later on you might of seen her as 'Navi' s dancer. Shakeena has been dancing with Navi for the past few years and had the honour of performing in front of MJ himself at the 2002 NYC and 2003 LA parties.
Other acts that stood tall were the Shake-dance performances. These guys were from Bournemouth, and we appreciate them being on board. Also were the Bam Bam Boogies. These youngsters put so much into this performance and we thank them for not just being huge MJ fans but also such great performers. Singing wise we had the likes of Nikki Parsons, Norissa and the amazing Jodie White. Nikki had to wrestle with the injury to his ankle that day but still wanted to be there as a true MJ fan. Norissa is currently recording to release material later this year, and Jodie White needs no introduction. Her voice being so soulful and powerful was a highlight of the event. It was an honour to have her there with us.
Remy Chambers, known to many of you over the years, as well as the choreographer for the 'Thriller Live' tour. As well as assistant to Lavelle Smith at the World Music Awards. (Look out for Remy as the dancer on the front left of Chris Brown in the Thriller performance at the WMA). Remy s group brought the professionalism the event required. We hope to have this man back at our next event.
Navi came on towards the end. Quite an opening through the middle of the stage, but accompanied by 4 dancers, Navi delivered Smooth Criminal, TWYMMF, Black or White. Then went on to have some of the audience participation in a dance competition. Navi returned with a J5 medley, Billie Jean and Thriller to finish with.
Also at the event. CTE Productions were extremely kind to provide the merchandise service, and also for the benefit of the fans, CTE Productions provided both the Japan footage and 2 songs from a concert. We want to personally thank them for support throughout this event, but most of all for serving the MJ fans for so many years now. We would also like to thank MJFC family. Deborah Danelly. Her continuous support has been priceless and we look forward to working together with the whole MJFC family very soon.
Thank you Paul (MJNO) for your support.
I also have to thank several people in my team; Lynsey, Prina, Mo Rizwan, Phil Thornton, Seyedah, Briggsy, Walla, Silvi. You all played a huge part in making this event possible.
Especially Lynsey, Phil and Briggsy. I thank you for your continuous hard work.
For those of you that missed the event, or for those that cant get enough and want to re-live some of the magic, we will be featuring some of the footage we filmed on www.kingofpop.info soon. Please know that this footage is the property of Showtime Intl. Ltd & King of Pop Fanclub (therefore trying to take it off is considered theft). There will also be a photo forum, where you can post your pics of the event for all to see.
On reflection of the event, there were highs and lows. Yes it was a success, and the fans made that clear. On a financial aspect, it was a major loss - we always expected this as bringing together such an event in such a venue, and wanting to use video projection etc, we knew this would always be a huge loss. We had to buy a projector especially for the event, and by the class of the London Hippodrome, you can see where the money went!
Finally, I want to say that I am so pleased with the event, that Showtime Intl Ltd & King Of Pop Fanclub are working on the next event. We cant give details yet, but it is likely to be between December-March period. Details will be released when it is confirmed our end. We hope you will once again join us. We will continue to bring high standard MJ events to the MJ fans no matter the loss. I myself, am a huge MJ fan, and it has been an honour to have been part of this event.
Kind Regards,
Founder

PPS: I didnt want to mention this so early, but Showtime Intl. Ltd has been working on a planned event with its partners for a huge 'MJ 50th Birthday' Celebration Event.
This has been on the cards since we were involved in the production of the 45th Birthday Party in LA 2003. That was an MJFC event. I know it is way too early to mention what idea's we have lined up, but when we are ready, all will be revealed! For now we'll concentrate on the next event planned between Dec-Mar 08.
You ain't seen nothin' yet!
